Dear RCDS Community,
I hope you are well and enjoying your summer. I write today to share 500万彩票网 Country Day’s preliminary Reopening Plan, which was developed by the Reopening Task Force and submitted to New York State for approval earlier today.
This plan, which follows guidelines issued by New York State and the CDC, is the culmination of thoughtful research and collaboration by teachers, administrators, trustees, and parents/guardians, along with medical and technology experts. The feedback that our families and employees provided to us during RCDS @家 was also integral to optimizing our remote learning efforts and envisioning our new hybrid-flex learning model, which will enable us to safely resume in-person learning in the fall as permitted by local and state authorities.
As you read this Reopening Plan, please keep in mind that more details will be forthcoming as the beginning of the school year approaches, and I will continue to communicate openly and frequently about our plan. It is also important to note that this plan is subject to change as developments occur, guidelines change, and new information becomes available. This will require us all to remain flexible and informed. As always, I thank you in advance for your patience, flexibility, and understanding in these unprecedented times.
To realize our vision of a healthy, safe, supportive, and academically excellent 500万彩票网 Country Day, the Board of Trustees invested over $2.5 million in educational technology, professional development, safety equipment, and facilities updates. I have said it before, but it bears repeating: RCDS is a strong and outstanding school because of the partnership in our community. Together, our students, families, faculty, and administrators make up a school community that is steadfast in its commitment to excellence, student well-being, and success.
I want to extend my deepest gratitude to the members of the Reopening Task Force committees, and to each and every member of our community, for their continued engagement in this important process of reimagining our school. Amidst great uncertainty, we have worked together to create as healthy, safe, and innovative an environment as possible guided always by our dedication to our students. I am so proud of this community.
Please save the date for our virtual Reopening Town Hall for parents/guardians on Thursday, August 6, at 6 p.m. During this town hall, you will hear from the Reopening Task Force Steering Committee, as well as our medical consultant, Pediatric Infectious Disease Specialist Dr. Natalie Neu, M.D., M.P.H. I look forward to connecting with you on August 6, and words cannot express how excited I am to see our students on campus again in September. In the meantime, I wish you all the best.

Our safe return to RCDS is a shared responsibility, and we—parents/guardians, employees, and students—will be collaborative, cooperative partners in our active commitment to the safety of our learning environment and all of its members. By following health and safety guidelines daily at school and beyond, each of us will uphold this community compact as a central part of our being members of the RCDS community.
